Really Really Red Valentine Altered Tin
I made this little altered tin for another swap on Paper Traders. Gluing down all those micro beads was a pain - LOL! The tin won't close because the nest is too big but I think it looks cute and it should be displayed open anyway... don't you agree?
Altered Dominoes
I made both of these altered dominoes for a swap on Paper Traders. Both of the images were sealed with crystal lacquer and then I dropped the gold items into the wet lacquer to attach them (the key, bow, and gold micro beads). The pear one has pretty little rub-ons around the edge while the key one has a ribbon glued around it.

Taylor Swift's newest fan
Today I had to get some groceries and stuff at Wally World and decided to spend the gift card my brother gave to me for Christmas on a new CD. I've been in love with that "White Horse" song by Taylor Swift that I recently heard on the radio so I decided to buy her new album, "Fearless"... and now I think I am her biggest fan! Did you know this young, feisty gal wrote or co-wrote every song on both of her albums - amazing! Even though I'm about twice her age, I can still relate to the message of her music and I love her strong, independent attitude. Take my advice and buy this album if you don't have it already...
P.S. One cute thing she does in her liner notes is capitalize random letters that spell out a secret message for each song =)

A Number of Zettis
This is the spread I made for Marion's tip-in journal on Paper Traders. Her theme is "A Number of Zettis." I hope this is zetti-ish enough =) It's difficult to tell from the scan but the feathers all have pearlescent accents and the golden egg has been spritzed with MoonGlow. The number 2 also has gold paint brushed around the edges.
I used Bernie Berlin's technique for painting over magazine images to make the lady. I used a sea sponge to create the bushes. I hope Marion likes it!

Lisa "oceandreamer" Swifka started the ONE World-ONE Heart event in 2007. The original idea behind this giveaway event was to bring bloggers together from around the world who may never ordinarily meet. It closes the gap of the blog community and enables us to interact, discover new and wonderful people and, in the process, possibly win a prize along the way. This is more than wanting to win something - it's about finding kindred spirits. It transcends geographical location, social economics, political affiliation, religious beliefs... it's a coming together like the giant community we are on this planet. If only it took a simple giveaway to create PEACE everywhere! In the meantime, here we give from our hearts. We are not solving the world's problems nor are we curing anything nor are we changing the world. We are merely generating a closer community between humans through blogging. The mission of this event is to meet new people and them meet you. It is almost like being in a huge convention room where you meet and mingle - only the "hello my name is" badge is each persons blog.
I love this idea and have been having so much fun blog hopping my way through all the participants' sites. And I wanted to get on board! So... I tried to figure out what I had on hand that someone might actually want... I guess we'll see how I did...
I'm giving the following items away to a single winner. You do not have to be a blogger to enter; just leave a comment below along with some way for me to contact you if you win (a blog link or email). I will draw a lucky name from all the comments on February 12th.
Before I became obsessed with mixed media collage, my hobby of choice was counted cross-stitch. All of these items are new or in like-new condition.
4 books:
Leisure Arts' "Our Best 200+ Holiday Quickies"
Leisure Arts' "Quick as a Wink"
"Alma Lynn's Country Cross-Stitch"
"Mary Engelbreit Cross-Stitch for All Seasons"

6 packages of 14-count aida fabric in white, ivory, flax, tan, pink, and blue
