Romance in Paris

This is the spread I did for Lynn Nichols' round robin journal. Her theme was "Love, Romance & Family" and she wanted an old world/shabby chic feel. I think this turned out pretty good...

Sticks & Stones

I realized today that I never posted the photos of my Sticks & Stones ATC's... here's what I finally ended up using for the swap:

These lovely rock pictures were shared with me by my friend Keron Lee who took took the photos on her recent trip to New Zealand.

Mom's vacation

I've been absent from here for the past couple of weeks because I've been busy having fun with my Mom =)

On April 19th, I drove to Vernal UT to pick up my mom who had traveled there for a wedding... it was a 7 hour drive for me each way but so worth the trip to have her come for an extended visit. The past couple of weeks we've done our share of shopping, eating, shopping, creating, and more shopping and eating - LOL!

Yesterday, I drove her up to Casper WY (a 5 hour trip this time) where we met my sister and her daughters. We all stayed together in a motel and then they took my mom home the rest of the way to Cody.

While she was here, I did manage to get a little bit of art done. Below is the ATC I created for the Paper Traders monthly lottery as well as the spread I made for Marion's "Deep Sea of Poetry" art journal in our Paper Traders Round Robin.

A Motley Crew

I decided to add to these cards according to their names... I'm not sure if I like them better or not but I guess that's the whole point of playing around with things.

I decided to make a few more friends to go along with my first two...

These are all made using Keron Lee's wonderful rock photos.

The Errant Knight

I thought these lizards were so cute that I just had to make another one using more of Keron's wonderful photos!

I call this guy The Errant Knight because he is off wandering on his own personal crusade.

Between a Rock and a Hard Place

My friend and fellow Paper Trader, Keron Lee, sent me some photographs she took of stones along the River Hutt on her recent trip to New Zealand. I am playing around with some ideas for my upcoming Sticks & Stones swap. Here are a couple of playful attempts:

I call this first one "King of the Mountain" (for obvious reasons =)

This is the chinese symbol for "strength" which was the only word that was simple enough for me to draw and was somehow related to stone... hahahahaha!

Pretty in Pink

This was another experiment in backgrounds. I followed Connie's instructions for decoupaging little torn bits of paper and then "sealing" them under a layer of tissue paper. I followed this up with a thin coat of pearlescent acrylic and a light spritz of Moon Glow's Starburst Stain.
